| Thymus vulgarius, Common thyme. There are over 150 varieties of thyme, but all share characteristics of common thyme. They are used in culinary recipes, as ground covers. and medicinally. Some grow in a vertical form, others are creeping. All are nectar producers, and one is a honey bee magnet, producing a world fames honey. We grow only two of the varieties; Common or English, and a creeping cultivar. | |||

English Thyme English Thyme is a 12- to 18-inch-tall and 24-inch-wide woody perennial shrub. The narrow stems are lined with tiny gray-green leaves and topped with tiny white to pink flowers in summer. |

Elfin Creeping Thyme Elfin Thyme's small, closely spaced flowers and leaves makes it not only one of the smallest thymes but also one of the slowest growing thymes. Elfin Thyme is a good choice for planting between stepping stones where spaces may be very small. |
